Governors
The Partnership Trust delegate some of its governance functions to each school’s Local Governing Body (LGB). You can find out more about Governance at The Partnership Trust on their website.
From the Chair of Moorlands Schools Federation Local Governing Body:
The governors of Moorlands are really proud to be part of such a vibrant and forward thinking school community. We work closely with our inspirational and committed Executive Headteacher, Senior Leaders and staff.
The children at our schools are at the forefront of our minds as we carry out our roles as governors. We take time to get to know the school family, to ensure we are engaged and attuned to the realities of learning at Moorlands Schools Federation.
The role of governors in a school is to act as strategic leaders and our legal duty is to “conduct the school with a view to promoting high standards of educational achievement at the school”. In order to do this, our three core strategic functions are:
1. Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
2. Holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils; and
3. Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.
We comprise parent governors (elected by all parents), community governors (local members of the community appointed by the Governing Body due to the skills and experience they bring) and staff governors (elected by staff). We have attached a list of our members for your information and there are also pictures of the governors in school to help you get to know who we are.
We can be contacted by email: jreevesgov@moorlands-school.com
We are really privileged to be governors at Moorlands Schools Federation and take a lot of pride in our school community.
