Online Safety

Online Safety forms a key part of our curriculum at Moorlands; the children take part in weekly Digital Literacy sessions and we celebrate Safer Internet Day as part of our Moorlands Online Safety Week.

We all play an important role in helping children stay safe online.

On 16 February 2026, a new government website was launched to support families and encourage regular conversations with children about what they see and do online.

The website covers common questions and concerns, including:
• How to talk with your child about online content
• Supporting children at different ages and stages
• Parental controls and how to use them

It also links to trusted charities and organisations where parents can find further support, including opportunities to speak with experts if needed.

The website will continue to be updated throughout the year as part of wider government work to improve online safety for children.

Please have a look and make use of these resources to help keep children safe online.
